This is a two-session, in-person class with no experience necessary.

Tunisian Crochet is often said to look similar to knitting but is worked with a crochet hook attached to a cord. The cord can be of varying lengths, depending on how wide your project is, but has a stopper on the end to keep stitches from sliding off.

In the first meeting, we will learn some basics of Tunisian Crochet, such as chain stitch, Tunisian Simple Stitch, and Tunisian Purl stitch. We will focus on practicing the stitches, rather than starting out with a project.

In the second session, we will learn the Tunisian Knit Stitch, which actually looks like you used knitting needles to knit it but is thicker. We will also do some ribbing. If time permits, we may play with another stitch pattern.

Yarn and hooks are extra and should be purchased before class, so you have time to wind your yarn. If you purchase yarn online and want us to wind it for you before class, just let us know! You can find the Tunisian hooks HERE, but bring your own if you already have one. For yarn, we recommend one skein of Vintage which you can find HERE. The corresponding hook would be US7, H, or I. A lighter color of yarn will be easier to see.
